NAVIRES | Nepafenac ophthalmic suspension

•⁠ ⁠Concentration: 0.1%
•⁠ ⁠Brand: NAVIRES
•⁠ ⁠Indications: ⁠ ⁠Treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery.

Dosage & Administration:

For 0.1% formulation:
•⁠ ⁠1 drop in the affected eye three times daily, starting 1 day before surgery, on the day of surgery, and for 14 days postoperatively.

For 0.3% formulation (once daily):
•⁠ ⁠1 drop once daily, starting 1 day before surgery, on the day of surgery, and for 14 days
postoperatively.

 

Mechanism of Action:

•⁠ ⁠Nepafenac is a prodrug of amfenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, reducing inflammation and pain.

 

Common Adverse Effects:

•⁠ ⁠Eye pain
•⁠ ⁠Blurred vision
•⁠ ⁠Foreign body sensation
•⁠ ⁠Increased intraocular pressure (rare)
•⁠ ⁠Headache

 

Warnings & Precautions:

•⁠ ⁠Use with caution in patients with bleeding tendencies or on anticoagulants.
•⁠ ⁠May slow corneal healing—caution in patients with corneal defects or using topical steroids.
•⁠ ⁠Remove contact lenses before use; reinsert after 15 minutes.

 

Contraindications:

•⁠ ⁠Known hypersensitivity to nepafenac or any NSAIDs.

 

Storage:

•⁠ ⁠Store at 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).
•⁠ ⁠Shake well before use (suspension).

 

Packaging:

•⁠ ⁠Supplied in sterile 5 mL dropper bottles (0.1%)
