Each mL contains:
● Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride IP equivalent to Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v
● Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate IP 0.1% w/v
● Aqueous Buffered Vehicle q.s.
MOXIRES-DX is a sterile ophthalmic solution combining the powerful antibacterial action of Moxifloxacin 0.5% with the anti-inflammatory efficacy of Dexamethasone 0.1%.
● Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, effectively treating bacterial infections.
● Dexamethasone is a potent corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory mediators.
This combination provides a dual-action therapy—treating bacterial infections while relieving associated inflammation.
MOXIRES-DX is indicated for:
● Steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions where a corticosteroid is appropriate and where bacterial infection or risk of infection is present.
● Post-operative inflammation following eye surgery.
● Any ocular inflammation associated with bacterial infections.
Instill 1 to 2 drops in the conjunctival sac(s) every 4 to 6 hours.
● For the first 24–48 hours, dosage may be increased to 1 or 2 drops every 2 hours.
● Frequency should be reduced based on clinical improvement.
● Do not discontinue therapy abruptly.
● Always follow physician’s direction.
MOXIRES-DX is contraindicated in:
● Herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis)
● Viral infections (e.g., vaccinia, varicella)
● Mycobacterial eye infections
● Fungal diseases of ocular structures
● Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
● Remove contact lenses before use.
● Do not use the solution if it becomes cloudy or changes color.
● Discard within one month of opening.
● If eye pain, redness, vision changes, or irritation persist beyond 72 hours, consult a physician immediately.
Prolonged corticosteroid use may result in:
● Glaucoma, optic nerve damage
● Visual field defects
● Posterior subcapsular cataract formation
Common side effects may include:
● Conjunctival irritation
● Increased tearing
● Keratitis
● Papillary conjunctivitis
● Secondary infections
Store in a cool & dark place.
Keep out of reach of children.
